    Join a community of survivors and caregivers to give and receive support with others who share your experience. Meetings are held weekly, biweekly or monthly, depending on the group or program.

    Support is available to help you through the ups and downs of life with and beyond your diagnosis, or that of your loved one.

    Individual Counseling and Case Management provide options for individual support, while the Peer Support Program connects you with another survivor or caregiver.

    1-to-1 Therapeutic services increase health, improve healing and reduce stress.

    Our professional staff members are trained in integrative health care modalities which are designed to complement medical treatment. These professionals donate their time to provide free services to Survivor Wellness members.

  • Wellness Classes

    Move through your cancer experience while developing strength, relaxation, breath awareness, fitness and flexibility.

    From breathwork to strength training, from sound baths to Tai Chi/Qigong, from low intensity to higher intensity experiences, all are designed to reduce pain, increase awareness and develop new tools for life with and beyond cancer.

  • Community Events

    Survivor Wellness hosts events to honor and celebrate those impacted by cancer, and offer an opportunity to gather together, to heal in community.

SUPPORT GROUPS & GROUP ACTIVITIES

Support comes in many forms. Being in a group of our peers brings us closer, allows “healing in community”, and provides perspective on our own situation.

At Survivor Wellness, there are ample opportunities for peer & community support, conversation groups, and activities such as walking & gardening together.

Offered at no cost for cancer survivors and their caregivers.

  • WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPORT GROUP

    This weekly peer support group is open to any adult who has received a diagnosis, as well as their caregivers and loved ones. Meetings are held each Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30pm in the 59 House. Facilitated by our executive director, with the assistance of counseling interns.

  • CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP

    This biweekly group is open to any adult caregiver or loved one of a person who has received a diagnosis. Meetings are held concurrently with the Wednesday Night Support Group. Caregivers join the main group for introductions/check-in until 6pm, then move to another room for caregiver-specific support. Facilitated by counseling interns under supervision of a licensed clinical social worker.

    Members and non-members invited to join. No cost to attend. Held in the 59 House.

  • GRIEF & HEALING PROGRAM: “The Art of Grief”

    From October, 2025-April, 2026, members are invited to join this monthly program designed to help members cope with grief through facilitated art activities. Open to any members wishing for tools to cope with grief. Facilitated by counseling interns; not a support group.

    Members only. Reservation required. No cost to attend. Held in the Studio.

  • COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS

    Members and non-members are invited to join monthly meetings for “deep talk” - to explore meaning and purpose in conversations beyond cancer. Open to cancer survivors, caregivers and the general public.

    Facilitated by a counselor; not a support group. Held monthly in the Cottage behind the houses. No cost to attend. Members may reserve; non-members may join freely.

  • ART AS MEDICINE

    Held one Thursday evening per month, Art As Medicine is an art-making experience designed for anyone touched by cancer. Each 90-minute session offers a safe place to land—a place to slow down, breathe, and let creativity support healing, one brushstroke at a time. 

    Led by a professional art instructor from DRAW Inc, and facilitated by volunteer staff. No cost to attend; all art supplies are provided. Held in the studio. Reservation required.

  • WALKING GROUP at Red Butte Garden

    Held at Red Butte Garden each Sunday. An opportunity to heal in nature.

    Led by Survivor Wellness volunteer leaders, or self-led if no leader is available. Entry to the garden is free. Members only. Reservation required.

  • GARDEN GROUP

    Spend time in the gardens of Survivor Wellness from April-October.

INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT

Individual Counseling, Case Management & Peer Support help us navigate life with and beyond a diagnosis and treatment, while learning about ourselves.

Offered at no cost for cancer survivors and their caregivers. Membership required. Contact our offices to get started.

  • INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING: Survivor Wellness offers counseling services provided by MSW interns who are supervised by licensed Clinical Social Workers. Waitlist available if counseling is full. If needed, outside referrals are also available.

  • CASE MANAGEMENT: Need help finding resources? Our counselors are here to help.

  • PEER SUPPORT: The Peer Support Program connects those who are newly-diagnosed with mentors who are further along in their cancer journey. Members are required to complete a Member Profile and Peer Support Agreement before connecting with a mentor.

Survivor Wellness does not provide therapy, nor diagnose and treat mental health issues. Survivor Wellness does not provide crisis support. For emergencies, please dial 911 or contact the mental health hotline by dialing 988.

THERAPEUTIC WELLNESS SERVICES

Therapeutic services enhance health and healing while reducing the negative effects of cancer treatment. One-to-one sessions are valuable opportunities to connect with self.

Offered at no cost for cancer survivors and their caregivers. Membership & application required. Services are booked on a biweekly basis; not available on a first-come, first serve basis. All applications reviewed by our staff to ensure equity in booking.

  • CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY:

    Certified Craniosacral Therapist, Aubree provides gentle sessions to support health and healing via light tough and easeful manipulation of limbs. A craniosacral therapy session is held with the client fully-clothed while resting on a massage table.

  • EMBODIED LIFE COACHING:

    Through a combination of interactive conversation and easeful movement, certified Life Coach (and Qigong instructor), Lisa helps members navigate their next steps in life. Sessions involve both conversation and movement, and are held in the Cottage or 59 House.

  • MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE:

    Licensed Massage Therapist Graham is certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD),  a nurturing support for your lymphatic system. Through gentle, precise techniques, MLD helps to stimulate the natural movement of lymph fluids, aiding in waste removal, reducing swelling, and enhancing immune function. Whether you’re navigating post-surgical recovery, dealing with acute injuries, or managing chronic conditions like lymphedema, MLD offers a gentle yet effective pathway to relief and healing. An MLD session is held on a massage table with appropriate draping for the client’s comfort, and involves touch.

  • MASSAGE THERAPY:

    Provided by licensed professional Massage Therapists (LMTs.) Kiera is trained in clinical, oncology-specific techniques for those undergoing and beyond cancer treatment, and also specializes in neural and sensory integration techniques. Alexandra provides relaxing, restorative massage therapy sessions with a focus on relieving pain and stress. A massage therapy session is held on a massage table with appropriate draping for the client’s comfort, and involves touch.

  • NEUROPATHY THERAPY PROGRAM:

    Available by invitation only, Neuropathy Therapy is for members who are currently diagnosed with neuropathy. The program consists of 2 one-to-one sessions with Kiera Lucich, neuropathy specialist. Each session is 75 minutes long, with both sessions scheduled in the same month. Sessions include one-to-one assessment, education, practice exercises, and a treatment plan which requires at-home practice between sessions. Eligibility requirements for participation.

  • REIKI HEALING:

    Certified Reiki providers, Meg, Monalisa, James and Amy use light touch, sound and awareness to gently stimulate healing from inside and increase flow of life force. Some reiki sessions may include sound, reflective conversation, or silent meditation. A reiki session is held with the client fully-clothed while resting on a massage table, and involves light or no touch.

  • YOGA & SOMATIC MOVEMENT THERAPY:

    Certified Yoga & Somatic Movement Therapist (and executive director) Dana works via dynamic interaction to enhance self-awareness through a combination of movement, stillness, static poses, relaxation, and mindfulness practices. Different from a traditional yoga class, yoga therapy is an opportunity to co-create a healing practice for yourself. A yoga therapy session is held in the yoga studio, and the client is recommended to wear comfortable clothes that they can move easily in. There is no need for special gear or prior knowledge of yoga.

WELLNESS CLASSES

Group sessions to help you move through and beyond your experience of cancer or caregiving. Movement & breathwork classes develop strength, relaxation, breath awareness, fitness and flexibility. Sound healing and art sessions offer opportunities to restore and rediscover yourself.

  • ART AS MEDICINE (Activity level: low - sit in chair)

Art As Medicine is a monthly group art-making experience designed for anyone touched by cancer. Each 90-minute session offers a safe place to land—a place to slow down, breathe, and let creativity support healing. Led by Ellie, professional art instructor from DRAW Inc, and facilitated by Jordan. All art supplies are provided. Held monthly in the Studio.

  • AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE FOR WELLNESS (Activity level: low - seated to receive treatment)

    In this biweekly group wellness session, participants receive the 5 Needle Protocol, in which 5 small acupuncture needles are placed on the outer ears. Shown to provide relief from a multitude of symptoms, as well as stress, insomnia and anxiety, it can be done before, during and/or after cancer treatment.  Offered by certified Integrative Medicine specialist and holistic nurse Liz Monson. (Not for those who are pregnant.) Held biweekly in the Studio.

  • BLISSED OUT BREATHWORK (Activity level: low, with moderate to intense level of breath work reclining on the floor)

    Certified breathwork instructor Angie tailors this monthly class so members develop greater breath awareness and breath control to increase health and healing. Held monthly in the Studio.

  • HEALING SOUND BATH (Activity level: low, reclining on floor)

    Sound bath specialist Shanti creates an atmosphere of relaxation using sound bowls, chimes, and other instruments as you rest on a nest of cushions, blankets and yoga mat and the waves of sound envelop you. Held monthly in the Studio.

  • HEARTMATH® CLASS (Activity level: gentle movement, seated/standing)

    Monthly HeartMath® Class combines gentle movement and breath to provide self-care skills, reduce stress, and improve heart-brain coherence. Led by Lisa, Certified HeartMath® coach, life coach and qigong instructor, this class is open to any cancer survivor or caregiver, and can be done seated or standing. Held monthly in the Studio.

  • NEUROFLOW CLASS (Activity Level: gentle movement, seated/standing/walking)

    Biweekly NeuroFlow Class is a brain-based restorative movement class for cancer survivors led by neural integration specialist Kiera Lucich. NeuroFlow involves movement, breath, vision and balance exercises that rehabilitate brain pathways affected by chemo, surgery and/or radiation. Class content is tailored to the needs of the participants. Held biweekly in the Studio.

  • STRONGER THAN CANCER CLASS (Activity level: moderate movement, high intensity muscular engagement, standing/seated/reclining)

Certified Foundation Training instructor Andrew leads this strength and mobility-focused biweekly class. Foundation Training provides a healthy way to rebuild power, confidence, balance and capacity. Held biweekly in the Studio.

  • TAI CHI/QIGONG CLASS (Activity level: gentle movement, can be done seated or standing)

Certified Level 2 Holden Qigong instructor and T’ai Chi instructor, Carlos teaches these weekly Tai Chi/Qigong classes. Tai Chi consists of a series of movements that enhance flow, balance, strength and healing, while Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) means “to cultivate one’s life force”. Classes include gentle movement and breath coordination, and can be done standing or seated. Held weekly in the Studio.
