Survivor Wellness is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1997 as Cancer Wellness House.

Our mission is to transform the survivorship experience for cancer survivors, their family members, caregivers and loved ones by providing free services and support in a welcoming, home-like setting.

Who is welcome at Survivor Wellness?

Survivor Wellness does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, culture, gender, sexuality, nation of origin, disability, or age.
Survivor Wellness actively welcomes members of marginalized groups with open arms, with the understanding that these individuals are subject to social determinants of health (SDOH) that lead to an increased risk and likelihood of developing cancer.
In short: Survivor Wellness welcomes all cancer survivors and their caregivers and immediate support team members. Cancer does not discriminate; we are united by our experience.

TRIBUTES

This organization was established as Cancer Wellness House by Tika Beard and a host of courageous members and dedicated caregivers of the cancer community in Salt Lake City, Utah. The current staff and administration of Survivor Wellness offers our deepest respect and gratitude to these trailblazers.

Our organization honors the history of Holy Cross Hospital, the Montgomery Family, and those who work courageously to serve those living with cancer in the Salt Lake City area. Survivor Wellness is grateful to Holy Cross Hospital Salt Lake City and Common Spirit Health for providing the welcoming houses out of which the organization has operated since 1997.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

We acknowledge that Survivor Wellness sits on the unceded ancestral ground and homelands of the indigenous Ute, Paiute, Shoshone and Goshute tribes, the original stewards of this land. As we embrace these spaces, we gather in community to heal, connect, cultivate safety and ask for continued blessings of guidance, fortitude, abundance and strength for all who come through these healing spaces. We remain conscious of and indebted to the sacred relationship the indigenous peoples held with this land before us, and are committed to caring for the land that we now occupy, as did those who came before us.
